Stephanie R. Nesbitt, J.D.
Biography
Stephanie Nesbitt is the eleventh president of Utica University, taking office January 1, 2026.
President Nesbitt received her J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law, her M.B.A. from Syracuse University and her B.A. in Speech Communication from Ithaca College. She previously served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and, prior to that, Dean of Business and Justice Studies at Utica University.
Dr. Nesbitt has 18+ years of experience working in the risk management and insurance industry and as an attorney, and is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. Her research is in the development and effective teaching of business education programs and legal issues in Cyber Security, she is a former Wiley Faculty Fellow. Prior to joining Utica, she was Risk Manager and Associate Counsel for Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare.
Dr. Nesbitt holds a 2nd degree black belt in karate and is an avid, albeit slow, runner.
